Originally submitted to the 2011 National Geographic Traveler "Spontaneous Moments" photo contest, this split-second shot captured by photographer Stéphane Ducandas shows how fishing is done in the Loyalty Islands Province of New Caledonia.

In this image, fisherman Albert is seen defying gravity as he successfully secures the evening meal within the prongs, precisely spearing from the air in a manner not found outside the French archipelago. Meanwhile, I'm still struggling to plug my phone in.
